Job Description

Purpose of the job

  • To provide excellent customer service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer
  • Maintaining product knowledge, generating sales, merchandising, and safeguarding company assets
  • Maintain retail standards in all way for the effective running of the store
  • Responsible for managing a retail staff within a business.
  • Coordinates and synchronize the movement of pre-retailed merchandise from the store room to the various departments.
  • Keeps and maintains, coordinates the damaged and faulty stock as per company policies
  • Assist the new staff in training and work according to the company standard and values

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Store Operations
:

  • Manage retail staff, including cashiers and back store team.
  • Meet monthly target objectives by analyzing variances & initiating corrective actions.
  • Ensure pricing is correct and all the merchandise is priced and security tagged.
  • Work on store displays in co-ordination with Vm Team.
  • Coach, counsel, train, and discipline employees.
  • Identify current and future trends that appeal to consumers.
  • Ensure merchandise is clean and ready to be displayed.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure items are in stock.
  • Keep up with fluctuating supply and demand from stockroom to floor.
  • Ensure promotions are accurate and merchandised to the company’s standards.
  • Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met.
  • Monitor local competitors.
  • Ensure hours of operation are in compliance with local laws.
  • Maintain store's cleanliness and health and safety measures.
  • Organize and distribute staff schedules.
  • Preside over staff meetings.
  • Help retail sales staff achieve sales targets.
  • Manage different departments within the store.
  • Handle customer questions, complaints, and issues.

Customer Service:

  • Answering queries from customers and giving advice and guidance on product selection to customers.
  • Aid customers in locating merchandise ensure no customer is unattended
  • Responsibly dealing with customer complaints and Communicate customer requests and complaints to management.
  • Building Rapport with the customers and taking their feedback making sure viable feedback is worked upon

Inventory Management :

  • Ensures the department is always appropriately stocked and replenished at all times.
  • Correct rotation of stock on the shelves.
  • Maintaining adequate stock on shelves and correct signage’s are displayed.
  • Check on replenishments.
  • Receiving and storing the delivery of large amounts of stock.
  • Complete and appropriate feedback on fast and slow moving merchandise
  • Request and orders based on the current trends.

Skills:

  • Preferably Graduate
  • You must have a minimum of two years retail management experience, and be able to manage a diverse customer profile and expectations.
  • You must have a passion for retail, customer service, and be commercially focused with a solid understanding of the brand.
